This is the second issue I’ve had with this repair shop, and unfortunately, the experience raised serious concerns about their communication and customer service. I brought my car in for an electric window repair. I believed the issue was the regulator, but I’m not a mechanic. When I made the appointment, I understood that I needed a regulator with a motor. However, when I arrived, the part I had purchased was apparently only the regulator. At no point was I contacted to let me know the part was incomplete or that there was an issue with the motor. The shop replaced the regulator, reassembled the door, and only afterward told me there was a problem with the motor. If the mechanic discovered the issue while the door was apart, why wasn’t I contacted then? I could have authorized the additional repair and purchased the correct part. Instead, I was charged for the labor and left with an unresolved issue that could have been addressed during the same repair. The original quote was $130, but the final charge was €201—and I wasn’t even given the estimate in the correct currency. When I went back to discuss my concerns, the two women at the front desk showed very little interest in resolving the issue. Instead of listening or explaining the situation professionally, they repeatedly argued with me and insisted that bringing the wrong part was entirely my fault. I tried to explain that my concern was not simply that the part was wrong, but that I was never notified once the mechanic discovered the problem. The conversation became so argumentative and unproductive that I ultimately had to walk away. I understand that the customer is responsible for providing the correct part. However, once the shop identified that the part was incomplete or that there was an additional problem, I should have been notified before the work was completed. That would have given me the opportunity to make an informed decision and authorize the additional repair. This is especially frustrating because this is the second problem I’ve had with this shop. After my first experience, I started using mechanics off base and had consistently good experiences. I went back to the Base Auto Repair this time because their quote was lower, despite my hesitation, and unfortunately the final cost was substantially higher than quoted. The biggest issue isn’t that a repair turned out to be more complicated—it’s the lack of communication and the complete lack of customer service when I tried to address it. I would expect better from a shop serving the military community. Two repair shops I had great customer service with and fair prices: 1. Horrer Automobile Werkstatt in Sindelfingen 2. B+L Autoservice + PflegeCebter GmbH in Stuttgart South
Ms. Slava at the front desk did a wonderful job. Awesome customer service!!!
The lady’s at the front counter are very friendly and helpful, the customer service was on point. However.. the prices are very very steep. I paid just shy of €300 for 1 wheel bearing to get fixed. I drove past the bays and saw my car sitting, no one touching it for about an hour. Then I finally saw someone working on it. If you’re wondering.. yes my car works now.. but the prices should go down a bit, especially for it being on a military base.
Both women at the front counter are friendly and have always been great at customer service. Especially Debbi! I have been to this shop four times now for issues with my car. And they have both always been helpful, explained the issues with my car, provided estimates, and ensured I understood everything. For customers looking to bring your car here for service, it will be taken care of, and you will be provided with great customer service! If they do not have the part available / there for you, they will either order it for you if they can or refer you to a place where you can get it! I would also inform future customers to understand the following at this shop: 1) Estimates can change - that is why it is called an estimate. Each time I have been given an estimate, it has consistently been close to the left / right amount. 2) Customer service advises you, as well as it is on the paperwork, both estimate and when you pay, that all prices are in Euro. 3) If you do not request a full diagnostic of your car, it is not expected or required that the mechanics will look at every piece / area of your car. Example, If you schedule an oil change expect an oil change. Don’t expect to know other information about your car unless you request and ask for it. Since I have been here several times and always received good customer service, it is very bothersome to me when I observe people (because I have), especially military personnel, treating these ladies with such disregard and disrespect. Just because they are not service members, does not mean you can treat them disrespectfully. Thank you so much for all you do for the USAG Stuttgart Community ladies!! A lot of military members and families would be hurting if that car center wasn’t open!!!!
1. Why are the prices in Euros? 2. We brought my friends car in to fix the window. We thought it was the regulator and bought the part. The shop quoted $130. The shop replaced the regulator and the total came to €205. That's fine, but the issue is the motor needed to be replaced and instead of saying something or calling they just finished the job without saying anything. Who does that? If you open up a component and realize there's more issues you don't say anything? Don't go here, waste of time and money. The garrison should shut this place down.
